Nathan Alexander
Nathan has formal qualifications in urban design, landscape architecture and business administration. With decades of working in the public and private sectors, he also has a working knowledge of architecture, master planning, strategic and statutory urban planning, traffic planning, and project management. He has been a director of state planning agencies in South Australia and in Abu Dhabi.

Nathan started reviewing design proposals while working at the City of Melbourne. His first work with residential design codes was for Hidden Valley, Wallen, in 2001. His first work with design codes for business parks was for Logis, Dandenong South, in 2012. That work won a national award from the Planning Institute of Australia in 2018. Nathan has been concentrating on design codes and design review since 2018.
As well as the planning and design of cities, Nathan enjoys road cycling, reading histories, and bushwalking with his family.
Assessment team
The Design Review assessment team are qualified in architecture, landscape architecture and urban design. The team are available to help answer questions from applicants and clients regarding the application process, design guidelines, and corrections notices and provide preliminary assessment advise.
